This Nitrate and Phosphate Remover Red Sea NOPOX uses a complex blend of minerals and carbon compounds that limit an overabundance of sulphate bacteria which contribute to algae growth. This happens gradually so as not to cause UV shock or starvation.

The remover also contains a mixture of metal and non-metal elements that support beneficial bacteria. Nitrates are turned to nitrogen gas and phosphates are consumed by the bacterial colonies which clears the water and lowers the risk of algae blooms.

This method reduces the nutrients that cause algae and releases more zooanthellae which supports coral pigmentation and development.

NO3:PO4-X is also recommended as a complete carbon source for use with carbon based de-nitrators. Use the correct Nitrate Test Kit to determine the level of this unwanted nutrient.
